We started this Graduate Institute in hope of setting up a good foundation for students to understand both theory and practice. Unlike most management courses that spends a disproportionate amount of time on management courses, the Graduate Institute of International Business focusses on courses such as international enterprise competition, international finance, international marketing management, and international economics. Students are free to choose classes base on their strengths and interests. Lectures are conducted primarily in Chinese, using English materials, and we have small classes which enhances communication between lecturers and students. National Taipei University provides opportunities for exchange and double master programs to prepare our students for the international arena.

One of the main purposes of our institute is to provide society with managers specializing in international enterprise management who have exceptional communication skills, a sound theoretical foundation, as well as a broad, international perspective on current issues and trends. The institute also strives to provide local businesses with knowledge on international issues, in order to aid them to better compete in the international arena. We also encourage students to participate in activities with local and international private enterprises, as well as public, government-owned systems.

Our faculty have different strengths in a wide variety of business disciplines. We aid our students in identifying their own strengths and interests at an early stage, as well as arm them with the relevant knowledge in order to be properly prepared to choose a thesis topic, and the right advisor for the topic.   We have developed a solid school system including a master program and an in-service master program. We have 25 students and 5 full-time teachers. The professions of teachers include international business management, international finance, and international marketing. In addition to building excellent performances within our teaching and research, many teachers of our graduate institute have published many international academic journal papers and have served as important positions inside and outside the university.

  To cope with the contemporary digitalization trend, the course design of our graduate institute focuses on international finance and international marketing technology. Artificial intelligence is employed throughout core courses to train students in the capability to effectively apply information technology to solve financial and marketing problems and then engage in strategy develops in international business. We also cultivate students to build professional expertise and knowledge in the fields of business management, strategy management, and economic analysis. Furthermore, our graduate institute co-hosts with outside experts in Taiwan to offer courses to enhance practical capabilities.   Secondly, to build the core competence of our graduate institute, we encourage our students and faculty to present and publish knowledge in leading conferences/symposia and academic journals. Furthermore, we actively seek research funds from government, university, and business communities to conduct research collaboration plans among students, faculty, and other famous scholars. We also seek the usage of some software packages and databases. Therefore, we seek to assist our faculty to build closer connections with professional international business, management communities, and public sectors. It can effectively enable the faculty to enhance their professional and leading ability in the near future.

  Thirdly, we seek for the innovation of international business education. We will follow and amend from the recent trends of international business education, and we will also develop/design the appropriate international business programs accordingly. The curriculum planning will fit into the attributes of famous international universities with current international business management atmosphere. It can tailor with the mission to offer an effective value-added education that enables the students to achieve their professional career development through our academic lectures, programs, and research plans in duly courses.
